Anchor Me was originally recorded around 1985 as part of the great “Mirrors In Motion” fever. I had a Yamaha 4-track cassette recorder and a few microphones and, along with drummer extraordinaire Keith Hurrell, was attempting to show the commercial music industry that I could write and play ANYTHING in ANY STYLE. This is, of course, a laughably Quixotic quest, doomed to failure. But it was fun.
This recording is the original 4-track recording panned hard left, with a new bass line panned hard right. Some time around 20012(?), I resurrected the song for the “Coyote & Co.” band project, and was demonstrating to then-bassist Victor Campos that the bass line could be played on a fretless bass. So this is me playing everything but drums.
