The Rhythm Kings at Popei's in Coram

Come summertime, the outdoor deck at Popei’s is a place of transfiguring beauty and communal funk. The full Rhythm Kings band (Philip and Douglas, augmented with Brian Connolly on keyboards/vocals and Chris Hadjopoulos on the drum set) rock this favorite Long Island eatery with a powerful set list that gets funky, rocks, reggaes, and gets original. Late afternoon on the deck at Popei’s with the Rhythm Kings is about as close to Heaven as you’re gonna get in this life.
